Valab LCR-1 MC / MM LCR RIAA Phono Stage

This LCR RIAA phono should be our most expensive investment on past 10 years. It accumulate our experience in phono stage design and LCR choke building.
Total 6 revising designed ever built and now what you see is our workout in past 3 years.

If you are series analog audiophile, your may have a dream to have a LCR RIAA phono. While it is not friendly at price and very rare. For LCR RIAA EQ is so difficult to built and these required inducers are so expensive.

We co-operate with James Audio in Taiwan to develop LCR RIAA EQ chokes for us. It use high Permalloy core and 6N OFC wire to wire these chokes. It have very low DCR and capacitance. 2 layers of electron magnetic shielding to assure very low interference.

Hybrid Opamp and desecrate circuit design, first stage use very high performance LME49990 to ensure best signal pic up from very weak signal of phono cartridges.
LCR equalizer was driven by Opamp and followed by desecrate class-A state circuit as output stage, all transistors were carefully matched, and full DC design.

No capacitors on signal path and Non-feedback on LCR EQ circuit.

What you see here is our best implement basis on so intensive investment.

Separate power supply design to eliminate EMI and vibration from power transformer. So this phono is very quiet. No audible noise even on over 100db speaker.

How it sound? I do not have good English to describe its sound by words. While it is the best Phono I ever built.

It is very very high cost implement, you can know by appreciate photos on this phono. All parts are carefully chosen,  Dale resistor, James Audio LCR RIAA EQ chokes, Panasonic and SIC-Safco capacitors, OCC iner wires for signaling. All parts were carefully chosen, almost no budget concern, we use best sound and reliable parts basis on our experience.

Finally I tell you why use expensive choke based LCR RIAA Equalizer instead of conventional RC RIAA.

In conventional RC RIAA circuit, lots of music signals were 'digested' in resistor-capacitor filter for it use large value resistor in circuit.

While in LCR RIAA, most music details were kept, you can hear much more music details.

So if you use LCR RIAA, your analog system can easily perform very gigh resolution as top end digital audio system and of course, very natural analog sound.

LCR RIAA phonos all sold at incredible high price. Our efforts make it back to real world price for more analog audiophiles.

Hi Kevin,

LCR-1 arrived today and all I can say is "WOW!" This phono stage is sounding stunning with the Benz Wood using the 500 Ohm setting and 62dB gain. Dead quiet as well! Congratulations on a fabulous product and thanks again for making the effort to tailor the settings for me!

Many thanks,

Hi Kevin;

I received the LCR-1 phono stage and came well packaged and in excellent condition - good packing job. I tried it out and am very happy with it and the job you did designing it..

I would also like to buy one more but I wonder if you could add a 3 ohm impedance to use with my Ortofon SPU cartridge? All the gain settings are fine. You have a 14,16,18 ohm impedance settings but I need a 3 ohm added if possible.

Maybe you can suggest how to use my Ortofon SPU cartridge for better match using your LCR-1.

Appreciate your help in this because I would like to buy one more - also need 2 one meter solid core pure silver analog interconnects you are selling at $100 each.

Thanks,

I must say I'm extremely impressed with this phono stage now I've got it up and running. I'm hearing detail that I've never heard before in records, presented in a smooth, relaxing way and unfatiguing way. Presently channel separation is slightly less than the MM-88 though that may change with the 100 hour burn in. All in all the best I've heard from vinyl :)

Thanks again Kevin. Once its property warmed up I'll do a mini review on AudioKarma and Stereonet.

I have received the LCR phonostage today. It is in very good shape and works flawlessly.

The sound is very good from the beginning. Congratulations for the very good sound quality.

Thank you very much for resending so quickly.

A very happy customer.
