This is an amazing signed Still Life oil painting on canvas of flowers. 
 
Nicely framed.
 
Frame and painting are in good condition. The frame has some wearing signs. Please see the photos - part of the description. 
 
Signed in a lower right corner by American Listed artist Robert Cox (1934-2001). 
 
Framed 26.5" x 22.5", painting measures 24" x 20".
 
Born on July 14th, 1934 in Mt Holly, New Jersey, Cox studied at the Katharine Gibbs School of Art from 1953 until 1956 and then joined Mayhew Peake's Inc. as a graphic designer.  He resigned in 1962 and moved to California, where he married Marjorie Cox in 1966. 
 
He found much inspiration for his floral paintings in California and became one of the most prolific painters of the 1970s and 1980s.  He employed the palette knife to create his stylized flowers, often selling his paintings for little money because he believed that original art should be available for the general public to enjoy. 
Cox was a founder member of the Art Workers Coalition and very active in promoting the rights of artists.
