Presented in a nice frame with glass.

Signed in the lower-left corner by Listed Artist Arthur Willett (1857-1918). Some notes on verso.

Framed measuring 33.5" x 25.5" & painting measures 29.5" x 21.5" . 

Condition: Good condition for this age.

BIOGRAPHY
The painter was born in Cockermouth, Cumberland. Before emigrating to America in 1888 he lived in Brighton and exhibited at RA, RBA, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and Royal Scottish Academy. Willett lived in New York and painted murals later working with muralists Edwin Howland Blashfield (1848-1936) and Henry Siddons Mowbray, (1858-1928), and Francis Lathrop, (1849-1909). His American work included panels in the Capitol Building, Washington DC and he was a member of the National Society of Mural Painters. Nothing is known of any British art education.
