Original 3dfx Voodoo 5500 for Mac - the last ever 3dfx Interactive graphics card

This is a twin-GPU 3D card from the year 2000, with two VSA-100 processors and 64MB of VRAM. It is a PCI interface card but supports 66MHz operation, twice the normal speed for PCI devices. This is the Apple Macintosh edition of the card and will not work in an x86 PC - it is intended for a PowerPC Mac running MacOS 9.

It's the top-spec card 3dfx ever put out before the company's acquisition by nVidia. There was to be a quad-GPU Voodoo 6000 but it was never released.

It has both VGA and dual-link DVI outputs, unlike the PC edition.

I have read that this is the fastest video accelerator ever made for MacOS 9.

You can read a contemporary review at XLR8YourMac and about the series of devices at Wikipedia. There is some archived promotional material at 3dfxzone.it.

This was working perfectly when pulled from my old Beige G3 before I gave the machine to my mum. :-)

No driver or anything, just a bare card -- but you can still download them from the XLR8YourMac link above.

I will securely pack for postage in an anti-static bag and a well-padded envelope.
