Item for auction is a 28.61g Sikhote Alin iron meteorite that was witnessed to fall in the Sikhote Alin Mountains of Russia around 10:30 am on February 12, 1947.  This fantastic specimen features characteristics of flight orientation with its freeform shape covered with flowlines across several surfaces.  The best part about this piece are the metal splatters that spew over the sides - a testament to its fiery descent through earth's atmosphere.  Starting bid is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and you'll be hard pressed to find another specimen with these features.   The natural patina on this iron is as it was found, without any cleaning, and has a grayish-blue color.  Its very difficult to find specimens of this calibre today, there are no pitting or oxidation on it.  Item comes with a Big Kahuna Meteorites Certificate of Authenticity.   Scale cube in photo is 1cm on each side, and not included in sale.
