The art idea was created in 2013 for release as a limited edition fine art print.

Each made to order print has been created as part of a limited edition. The one on auction is (No. 49 of 50): It will be made to order, hand signed, numbered will be dated as 2014. Only available in 70cmx100cm with a narrow white boarder around the edges.

New York, unframed, originally designed with cut paper and drawings in ink and paint brush then coloured digitally and made into a limited edition fine art print by artist Nicholas Girling. Frame not included.

The colours are vibrant. The focus is on the landmark Chrysler building. The Empire State building always seems to be featured in images. The Chrysler is such an wonderful piece of period architecture that the artist wanted to pay a tribute to its iconic nature.

Nicholas was lucky enough to travel to New York before 2011 and like many with eyes wide open, the place made a wonderful first impression. "When we were dropped onto manhattan amongst the tall buildings, I felt like I had entered a movie and I was looking for the cameras."

Nicholas is inspired by the art of the mid 20 century. This piece is completely from his own concept and colour palette and his own thoughts on how to present this magnificent metropolis as a large format art print.

The method of printing is Giclee. It is printed on a heavy smooth soft white uncoated cotton rag 310gsm archival fine art paper. Acid free and chlorine free.
