Introducing our newest rack and pinion drive system for larger Nema 34 motor systems! This system features 4 times the torque capacity of our Nema 23 system by using larger series belts and pulleys. It also offers a unique low-profile tensioning mechanism for easy adjustment of the mesh force into the rack. It integrates seemlessly with our extended linear carriages, and is still compatible with our rack clamps for easy machine setup.

Due to the higher torques of Nema 34 motors, this system features a 2:1 reduction instead of the 3:1 reduction on our Nema 23 system. This puts most Nema 34 motors in the optimum range for high cutting forces and speeds up to 1200 IPM+. A must-have for you speed demons out there.

Package includes R&P Nema 34 plate, hardware kit (including tensioning mechanism), motor pulley for 1/2" shaft, Nema 34 drive spindle assembly, 15mm belt, and motor mounting cap screws and nuts.

Uses the same rack as our Nema 23 system. Mount a 20 Degree Pressure Angle, 20 pitch rack to the extrusion underneath the rail using our innovative rack clamps -- combine lengths of rack to get the travel you want. Rack clamps are sold separately.

MACH Settings for R&P:
The R&P system is based on a pinion with a 1" pitch circle. The total linear distance traveled per revolution of the pinion is thus 3.14159". With the Nema 34 R&P 2:1 reduction, this means that the distance traveled per motor revolution is 3.14159 / 2, or 1.5708". If you have a stepper with 200 steps per revolution, this means you have 200 / 1.5708" = 127.324 steps per inch, or 0.007854" per step. With 10x microstepping (like in the G201x or G203V), you would have 1273.2 steps per inch, or 0.0007854" per step.
