Why replace your carburettor?
If your machine is hard to start, won't hold idle, cuts out under load, floods, or has been sat over winter with old fuel in it, the carburettor is usually the culprit. Ethanol in modern pump fuel breaks down diaphragms and gums up jets — a new carb is often quicker and cheaper than a full strip and rebuild.

Fitting notes:
Straightforward DIY replacement with basic hand tools. Re-use or renew the gaskets and insulator block as required, and check the fuel lines and primer bulb at the same time — they perish at a similar rate and are a common cause of the same symptoms.
