Allow me to introduce you to the Walnut Family; of the Ottawa Walnuts specifically.
This is a unique piece I cast in sterling silver. I found these mushrooms
in a field of freshly mowed grass here in Ottawa, Ontario. They were
near a stand of Black Walnut trees, so I assumed they were visiting relatives.
I attached them to a European Walnut that didn’t survive snack time.
I cast them in sterling silver, polished them, and then helped them oxidize
to give contrast and character to their surface. They seem content.
They are easy to get along with, and I find them to be very polite.
