The Capitol Christmas Tree has been a tradition at the U.S. Capitol since 1964.

The 2013 "People's Tree" is a majestic Engelmann spruce, harvested from the Colville National Forest in the far northeastern corner of Washington State.

This special tree traveled more than 5000 miles and made dozens of stops across the country, sharing the mission of our national forests.

·       88-foot Engelmann Spruce

·       79 years old

·       32 inch diameter at the base

·       Drinks 30 gallons of water a day

·       5000 ornaments hand made by school children from across the State of Washington.
