Colortune will fit directly, with no adaptor required, to most 

current production cars sold in the UK with the exception 

of some large Fords which use a large spark plug with an 

18mm thread. It will also fit Motorcycles with 2 stroke engines 

almost universally as there are no space restrictions caused by 

valves. It will also include most garden machinery and power 

plant engines

Colortune is a unique mixture setting 

device and a detector of other mixture 

related problems. It is a sparking plug, 

which runs the engine like any normal 

sparking plug, but because it has a 

glass insulator, it allows the colour of the 

combustion flame, inside the cylinder, to 

show through it, thereby indicating the 

strength of the mixture or other faults.

How will it work?

Understanding the principle by which 

Colortune works helps in getting the best 

results. That principle is commonly seen 

in action on paraffin heaters, gas cookers 

or anywhere a fuel is burnt in the air to 

produce heat or energy.

Combustion at its most efficient produces 

a clear blue flame, various colours result 

in inefficient mixtures. Inside an internal 

combustion engine those same colours are 

present though not normally seen. 

With Colortune fitted, in place of a spark 

plug, the flame is visible through the glass 

insulator and the fuel is ignited by a spark in 

the Colortune.

What it does?

Colortune provides a unique view of the 

behaviour of the fuel burn, in the individual 

cylinders, often saving expense on costly 

fault diagnostics. Colortune will set the 

mixture very accurately, if used correctly, 

avoiding most petrol wastage, ensuring 

better performance and cleaning up the 

exhaust to a great extent. 

What it fits?

Colortune will fit most vehicles. 

The standard plug has a 14mm diameter 

plug thread just like most sparking plugs. 

Adaptors to allow it to be fitted to all other 

vehicles, boats, motorcycles or even lawn 

mowers, are readily available to fit 18mm, 

12mm and 10mm sizes.
