   Q : Why use Stepped Attenuator Potentiometer , not ordinary Volume control ?

   A : Nothing else to say but it is L/R absolute balanced at any volume level . Each step use 1% SMD high quality resistor. Ordinary Volume Control will be degraded with age , temperature change (especially in Tube Amp) since ordinary one is formed by touching circular carbon powdered tracks. It is the reason why the Hi-End equipment always uses Stepped Potentiometer.

  Q : What is the difference with GOLD Plated ?

  A : Durable and Low Contact Impedance , and the most important is the clear sound image.

  Q : Does it make "POP" sound between steps ?

  A : No, the gaps between contact is modified to "S" shape to eliminate the "POP" sound , i.e. first contact (close) before cut off (open).

 

This is the SECRET "S"

 

  Q : Can it completely replace the ordinary Volume Control , e.g. Resistance and Size?

  A : Yes , the size of this item is standard and compact ( Body Dia 21mm, Installation Dia 7mm / thread Dia 6.5 mm , whole shaft length 20 mm, shaft Dia 6 mm , thread length 7 mm approx.) . Resistance is 100K (A type) , the most common value.
