new optics design Focal reducer/Speed booster adapter

for/Nikon AI/AIS/F and G type lenses to m4/3 (mft) mount cameras

All metal structure, with excellent opticals (4 elements/2 groups)

it has the aperture lever pusher ring on the adapter, to allow aperture adjusting with Nikon G lenses

what it does:

  • reduce the focal length (by 0.72x wider)

  • effectively increases the maximum aperture of the lens by 1 stop

  • (in other words, under the same aperture, you can use faster shutter speed (by 1 stop).

  what it does not:

there is no electronic integration, no auto focusing

Note: a customer reported Nikon 50/1.4 AI has the rear protrusion issue; need to file down the protrusion by 1.5mm (still can use with film camera)

Note: the blue dot issue... under certain circumstances.. and for some lenses... it still has it though...   To avoid it... try avoid using small apertures. and avoid direct light in the lens... and/or avoid high contrast...

Comment from customer regarding how to avoid the blue dot:

" what I've found when in bright daylight its important to keep the sun at your back to avoid the lens coming into direct sun. Though this can be an issue when shooting on water due to the reflection most other times it eliminates the issue. If shooting with the sun in my field of view I've been positioning the blue dot in the sky which helps it to blend in. As you mention a bigger f stop helps, in the Minolta 28mm f2.8 case by f8 most shots I'll be dot less. I also have been running a slightly over-sized hood and a polarization filter both of which I feel help in some small way. " ---  christopherconan
