Description: An excellent maritime scene, watercolour on artist's paper, signed "J.A.D.", and dated 1916 and framed - approx 12 X 15 inches (30 X 38 cm).This is an excellent English Impressionist watercolour dating from the George V period. The maritime scene depicts a wonderfully atmospheric impression of a large ship or vessel beached on the shallow shores. Figures can be seen around the huge bulk of the ship whilst others are fishing and looking on. Above a dark sky beckons casting shadows over the sands.The work is signed and dated lower right - "J.A.D.", 1916.

Date: 1916

Framing: Contemporary plain moulded Gesso work. Finish: Gilt.The watercolour is mounted on board and has a off-white mount.

Condition: The painting retains good colour for its age, the mount has discoloured and there are one or two minor chips to the frame.
