Original Signed Framed Impressionist White Cliffs Landscape Watercolour Painting
Description: A fine coastal scene watercolour on artist's paper, signed "J.H.B." and dating circa 1920s. Framed - approx 14 X 16 inches (36 X 41 cm). This is a fine English School watercolour dating from the mid c20th period. The coastal scene depicts a fine impressionist view of a sandy bay with figures on the beach along with white chalk cliffs and a down in the distance with sail boats beneath a blue clouded sky. The work is signed "J.H.B." lower right.
Date: The watercolour probably dates to around 1920s.
Framing: Contemporary plain moulded Gesso work. Finish: Gilt. The watercolour is mounted on board and has a cream mount.
Condition: The painting retains good colour for its age having one or two minor marks. The mount and frame have a little wear consistent with age.
