Description: An excellent pen ink and watercolour painting on artist's paper, signed "Noel Shepherdson", and dated 1966 - approx 15 X 10 inches (38 X 26cm).This is an excellent English Modernist watercolour dating from the late 20th Century period. The townscape depicts a fine view of Windsor Castle from Windsor Town Bridge. Finely detailed in pen ink and wash, figures walk across the bridge spanning the River Thames between the towns of Windsor and Eton. The Old House hotel along with other Georgian buildings nestle beneath the imposing fortress that is Windsor Castle. A very fine architectural study of this famous landmark.The work is signed and dated lower right - "Noel Shepherdson", 1966.

Artist Biog: Noel Shepherdson was born in 1935, studied painting in London and Leicester and taught in art schools before becoming a senior lecturer. In 1973 he began to paint full time moved with his family to Clunton in the Clun valley amidst the dramatic Shropshire hills. He has had over seventy one-man exhibitions. Much of his work is inspired by the Shropshire countryside surrounding the Welsh Marches. He is President of the Ludlow Art Society.

Condition: The painting retains good colour for its age. The mount shows slight discolouring and would benefit from being re-mounted and framed.
