Description: An excellent landscape watercolour on artist's paper, signed "A. Rudd" and dating circa 1920. Framed - approx 13 x 18 inches (33 x 46 cm). This is an excellent English Impressionist watercolour dating from the early 20th C period. The landscape depicts a fabulous impressionist view of a rural farmhouse surrounded by fields, the rising landscape in the distance. To the foreground shrubs give colour to the golden sun scorched grasses beyond which sheep quietly graze beneath a clouded sky. The work is signed "A. Rudd" lower left for "Agnes Rudd".

Artist Biog: Agnes J. Rudd - British - (Active 1880 - 1938) Listed Artist. Lived in the Dorset area.

Framing: Later plain moulded Pine. Finish: Gilt. The watercolour is mounted on board and has a brown mount.

Date: circa 1910

Condition: The watercolour retains good colour for its age, the artist's paper having mellowed a little and there are a few signs of foxing to the sky area, all adding to character and authenticity.
