Description: Signed Framed Original Pastel Drawing Pickers Hats Late Summer Margaret Ricketts. A fine still life in pastel on artist's paper, signed MR, dated 1995, framed - approx 17 X 19 inches (43 X 48 cm). This study entitled, verso, Hats. Ladies hats, summer hats, straw hats, laid out on a table, one upturned, one beautifully decorated with apples, beside a spray of colourful flowers, ripe honeysuckle. The palette of bright golds greens and red is redolent of late british summer, warmth and heavy scented, long shadows and the low sun of approaching eve. Signed and dated lower left - MR, 1995.

Framing: Plain Moulded Wood. Finish: Gilt. Mounted on board with an off-white mount.

Artist Biog: Margaret Adeliza Mary Ricketts (nee Royds) (b. 1910 - deceased) - Married to Ralf Robert Ricketts (1902 - 1998) - formerly of Old Alresford Lodge, Alresford, Hampshire.
