This fine traditional watercolour is a large and impressive depiction of old English charm, a country lane titled, to the lower left "Redwhen Lane", in blends of washed colours, on textured artist's paper. The narrow metalled lane is flanked by stone walling and a thick canopy of foliate trees and bushes, in a full summer palette of green, grey and brown hues. The work is signed and dated lower left - "David D. Howard", 1971.
