Great vintage ceramic stein with US Air Force eagle symbol and "Spang-Dahlem A.B. U.S. Air Force" around it. At the base of the stein is "Germany 1957-1960" and the presumed owner's name, Dan, is written above. Nice handpainted planes on each side and gold trim. The lid looks like pewter and has an airplane as the finial and an Air Force symbol on the thumb lift. Fun lithophane in the bottom -- a nude woman can be seen clearly when the stein is opened and held to a bright light. 9" high and has a stamped maker's mark on the bottom of "Hoehr Hand Painted West-Germany" with the number 13.  I see  some mostly minor wear to the gold trim, though the top rim under the lid shows just traces of gold, so there's apparently heavy wear there. No chips, cracks or stains. The loop attaching the lid to the handle is a bit loose, so the lid can be jiggled.
